Dr. Michael Alfred Peszke was educated in schools in England and Scotland, and received his medical degree from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland in 1956. In addition to his psychiatry career, he independently pursued interests related to his Polish heritage, and came to specialize in Polish military history. Dr. Peszke published books on the subject, his most recent work, The Armed Forces of Poland in the West 1939-1946, having come out in 2013. A lifelong proponent of Polish culture and history, Dr. Peszke was also a member of the Polish Institute of Arts and Sciences and helped found the Polish Studies Program at Central Connecticut State University.
